Apple presentation: what will fall 2022 be remembered for

On September 7, Apple’s long-awaited event finally took place, revealing its latest lineup of gadgets. And while we wait for sales to kick off, now is the perfect time to get to know them better.

At the event, we were introduced to eight new products. Let’s talk about their standout features.

The new model now includes a temperature sensor, allowing for even more precise health monitoring. Additionally, a new crash detection system has been added—if an accident occurs, the watch will immediately alert emergency contacts and medical services with the exact location. Plus, the low-power mode extends battery life to up to 36 hours on a single charge.

As expected, the Apple Watch SE 2 has become the most affordable option in the new lineup, with a starting price of $249 (around 15,000 RUB). Despite the lower cost, it features the same flagship chipset as the Apple Watch Series 8 and Apple Watch Ultra, making it 20% faster than its predecessor.

The top-tier Apple Watch Ultra was a true surprise, marking the first time Apple has used the Ultra branding in a watch. This flagship model is designed for extreme and high-intensity sports enthusiasts. It meets the MIL-STD 810 military standard, ensuring durability in the harshest conditions, including diving up to 100 meters.

The titanium case measures 49mm in diameter—the largest we’ve ever seen in an Apple Watch. The display is flat, allowing for an additional reinforced edge, and it’s covered with sapphire glass for extra durability. The watch also features a second speaker for louder audio and a programmable orange action button for added functionality.

The AirPods Pro 2 maintain their familiar design, but now feature a touch-sensitive stem, allowing you to adjust the volume with simple gestures. Battery life has also been improved—up to 6 hours on a single charge, which is 2 hours longer than the previous generation.

Apple has significantly enhanced active noise cancellation, making the new AirPods block twice as much external noise as before. As a bonus, the earbuds now come with four pairs of ear tips instead of the usual three.

The updated charging case now includes a built-in speaker, which plays a sound when lost or when placed on a charger. Plus, it now features a lanyard loop for added convenience.

The screen size (6.1 inches) and A15 Bionic processor remain the same. The iPhone 14 Plus, however, can rightfully be called its bigger sibling—with similar specs but a 6.7-inch display.

The main updates are in the cameras:

1. The main camera is now 49% more light-sensitive and features Action Mode for maximum video stabilization.
2. The front camera now has autofocus and several small improvements aimed at enhancing photo quality.
3. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus are available in five colors: black, white, red, purple, and blue. Prices start at $799 and $899 as expected.

The notch is gone—replaced by Dynamic Island, a new screen cutout for cameras and sensors that also displays notifications.

Both Pro models are powered by the A16 Bionic processor, delivering 40% more performance compared to last year’s A15 Bionic.

The main camera resolution has been increased to 48 MP, and a 2x zoom mode has been added to the existing 3x zoom. All cameras now offer better low-light performance.

The Always-On Display feature is a welcome addition, though it raises concerns about battery life. Here’s what Apple claims:

iPhone 14 Pro:

• Video playback: up to 23 hours
• Audio playback: up to 75 hours

iPhone 14 Pro Max:

• Video playback: up to 29 hours
• Audio playback: up to 95 hours
